Your Step-by-Step Guide to the Surrogacy Process
The surrogacy process for intended parents begins with an initial consultation to discuss goals and plan the journey, followed by matching with a suitable surrogate. Once matched, the surrogate undergoes medical and psychological screening, and legal contracts are established to protect both parties. After legal clearance, the embryo transfer takes place, and, upon confirmation of pregnancy, regular monitoring and communication continue throughout. As the birth approaches, plans are made for the intended parents to be present, with legal steps ensuring parental rights. Following the birth, support is offered to ease the transition for both the intended parents and the surrogate.

Initial Consultation
1-2 weeks
Your journey begins with an initial consultation with our Client Development Specialist. They learn about your goals and you’ll learn more about the steps of surrogacy
Matching
2-6 Weeks
Based on your criteria, and your completed questionnaire, you will receive surrogate profiles. Once you have identified a surrogate of interest, we would then share your questionnaire with this surrogate to ensure she feels it is the right match for her, also. Once everyone is in agreement to proceed, Legend Medical Surrogacy will then facilitate a call for you all to meet.
Assign
Case Manager
1-3 Days
Once you are officially matched with your surrogate, you will be assigned your own Case Manager. They will be responsible to handle the day to day coordination on your journey. Senior Management will continue to be involved throughout, as well.
Medical
Screening
3-6 weeks
The surrogate is medically evaluated by a reproductive endocrinologist of your choosing. Results of the exam are complete in approximately ten days. When the surrogate is medically cleared, the process can proceed to the next phase.
Legal Contract
4-6 weeks
During your surrogate’s medical workup, you begin working with our legal experts and your dedicated attorney to draft your contract. Our experienced staff will guide you through each step involved in the drafting of the contract between the intended parents and the surrogate.
Embryo Transfer
3 Weeks
Each surrogate is on medication for approximately 3 weeks to prepare her lining for the embryo transfer. The transfer takes place at the fertility clinic being used by the intended parents. Legend Family Surrogacy coordinates all details for the surrogate’s travel and accommodations.
Pregnancy
9 Months
Once your surrogate becomes pregnant, Legend Family Surrogacy stays with you until delivery. We work with you, the surrogate and the hospital to ensure a smooth and secure birth.
